Privacy Statement

The WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion is a giveaway for all existing retailers as of Jan. 1, 2023. The Wyoming Lottery Corporation will keep all information obtained via the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion confidential. The Wyoming Lottery Corporation will only disclose retailers’ personal information if ordered by a court or the Attorney General, or if otherwise required by law.

If a prize is won, by claiming said prize the retailer expressly accepts the terms and conditions herein. If a prize is claimed, retailers also agree to allow the Wyoming Lottery Corporation and its Marketing Agency, Warehouse Twenty-One, to use their name, photo, and the city where the retailer is located in promotional campaigns, announcements, advertisements, and press releases. 

Overview

These terms and conditions ensure that the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion is conducted in accordance with procedures and rules that guarantee integrity, fairness, honesty, and security.

Prizes 

There will be seven (7) prizes given away in the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion:

  • Grand Prize: $10,000 Cash
    • There will be one (1) Grand Prize winner.
  • Second Prize: $5,000 Cash
    • There will be one (1) Second Prize winner.
  • Third Prize: $1,000 Cash
    • There will be five (5) Third Prize winners.

Entry

All eligible retailers will automatically be entered into the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion drawing. Each retailer shall receive one entry regardless of number of locations. Please see eligibility explained below.

Entry Period

Retailers are not required to enter as all eligible retailers will automatically be entered into the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion drawing. The automatic entry period opens March 15, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. MDT and closes March 31, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. MDT. All entries will be reviewed by the Wyoming Lottery Corporation on or before March 31, 2023, before being placed in the random drawing. 

Eligibility 

The Wyoming Lottery Corporation’s CEO or designee will make all final decisions regarding the eligibility of retailers. If the Wyoming Lottery Corporation determines a retailer to be eligible, and the retailer was not entered into the drawing due to the Wyoming Lottery Corporation’s error, as determined by its CEO or designee, that retailer may be entered into a comparable drawing for a prize of like value, or an alternate prize may be offered at a future time. The Wyoming Lottery Corporation’s CEO or designee’s decision is final. 

Otherwise, to be eligible, the retailer must:

  • Be in good standing with the Wyoming Lottery Corporation before Jan. 1, 2023.
  • Have a valid certificate of authority.
  • Be currently selling lottery tickets at the retailer’s location. 
  • Be eligible to receive cash prizes. 
  • Be a business that is allowed to enter giveaways per the retailer’s company policies. Please check your company policies.
  • Be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Be a United States resident.

Winner Selection 

Seven winners will be drawn on April 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. The prize winners will be selected in the order of (1) Grand Prize winner, (1) Second Prize winner, and (5) Third Prize winners. The drawing will be held at Wyoming Lottery Corporation Headquarters: 1620 Central Ave., Ste. 100, Cheyenne, WY 82001. Ten (10) alternates will be drawn in the event that a winner does not claim the prize and accept the terms and conditions herein. The order in which the alternates are drawn will be noted.

Announcement Date

Winners will be contacted using information on file with the Wyoming Lottery Corporation no later than 5 p.m. on April 3, 2023. Winners will have until 5 p.m. on April 7, 2023, to claim their prize. Should a winner not claim their prize and/or accept the terms and conditions herein by that time, a winner from the alternate list will be used and contacted. Alternates will be used in the order they were drawn.

Contest

The Wyoming Lottery Corporation will provide its best efforts to ensure:

  • Winners awarded in this promotion are determined as impartially and randomly as practical.
  • The integrity of the Lottery is maintained.
  • The WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion is conducted in strict compliance with these terms and conditions.
  • Compliance with all applicable statutes, rules and regulations.

Drawing Details

All winners will be selected from the Wyoming Lottery Corporation’s active retailer list who are eligible and entered into the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion.

Seven prize winners will be selected at random from all eligible entries via a random selection process. 

In the event any winner drawn does not 1) accept their prize, 2) agree to the terms and conditions herein, or 3) cannot be contacted, an alternate winner will be contacted in the order selected on April 3, 2023. If the alternative likewise fails, the next alternate will be contacted, and so on until a winner is obtained.

Odds of winning are dependent on the total number of eligible entries.

Notification of Winners

Winners will be notified no later than 5 p.m. on April 3, 2023, via phone and email (if available).

Winners, by claiming a prize, expressly agree to the terms and conditions herein. 

Winner must claim their prize before 5 p.m. April 7, 2023, or an alternate winner will be contacted.

Transferability

Prizes are non-transferable.

Prize Taxes, Fees & Expenses

Disclosure Requirement: To receive a prize a winner must furnish to the Wyoming Lottery Corporation information required by the Internal Revenue Service’s Form W2G (or any other form required by the IRS), including but not limited to, the winner’s name and Security Number or Employer Identification Number. This disclosure is mandatory and the authority for such disclosure is 42 USC 405 (c) (2) (C); 26 CFR 31.3402 (q)-1 (e). A winner’s Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number will be used for the purpose of submitting required documents to federal tax authorities.

Winners are responsible for all applicable taxes, liens, or other legal or governmental charges.

Disclaimers

Employees or representatives of the Wyoming Lottery Corporation, advertising agencies, their spouses or any relatives residing in the same household as the employee or agent, are ineligible to participate in the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion. Any such person or entity entered into the WyoLotto Retailer Appreciation Promotion expressly agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Wyoming Lottery Corporation and its agents from and against any damages based on your participation in this promotion.

By accepting the prizes discussed herein, the winners agree to accept any prize “as-is” with no representations or warranties on the condition of any such prize.

Winners must verify they are a United States resident at the time of the drawing. For purposes herein a United States resident is defined as an individual who maintains permanent residency within the United States at the time of the drawing. Winners may be required to provide two forms of proof of residency sufficient to demonstrate residency.

The Wyoming Lottery Corporation shall not be required to release prizes to any winners until such time as it has completed any necessary security, tax, legal or other reviews.
