Guaranteed starting jackpot amounts, minimum jackpot increase eliminated

Per the national Powerball® Product Group of the Multi State Lottery Association, the game will change following the April 8, 2020 drawing. The Powerball Product Group stated that the advertised jackpot amounts will now be based on game sales and interest rates, and guaranteed jackpot amounts and minimum jackpot increases will be eliminated.

Powerball Jackpot at $321 million

Powerball’s® jackpot is growing to levels the nation hasn’t seen in months. The jackpot is now at $321 million, which is a cash value of $218.7 million. This jackpot is the highest it’s been since June 1, 2019 at $350 million, which was hit in North Carolina. 

The record for Powerball’s jackpot was on January 13, 2016 when it was $1.5 billion and three winners split the pot.
