The launch day celebration held at Holiday Station Store on 936 East Brundage Lane in Sheridan, began at 11:00 a.m. This free event was open to the public and included a BBQ, live music by Jalan Crossland, games and giveaways, including lottery ticket coupons and a 50” Sanyo LED 1080p HDTV with Roku Streaming Stick.
The ribbon cutting ceremony kicked things off at 11:45 a.m. Mary Ogg, our Launch Day Giveaway Grand Prize winner purchased the first Wyoming Lottery ticket ever sold and received the keys to her new 2014 Jeep® Wrangler. Mary’s first ticket transaction instantly activated the lottery terminals at all participating outlets statewide.
Mary was the Grand Prize winner of the WyoLotto Launch Day Giveaway! She won a 2014 Jeep® Wrangler and will go down in history by buying the first lottery ticket sold in Wyoming. She chose to purchase her ticket at Holiday Station in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Mary is a 67 year-old grandmother who came to Wyoming in 1969 to teach elementary school in Rock Springs, where she met her husband, Max. Mary and Max have lived off and on in Wyoming over the years, moving for work, before returning to Wyoming to retire in Sheridan in 1998.
Of the nearly 30,000 entries – a winner from each region was randomly selected to win $1,000 and Mega Millions® tickets for a year!
