Just over one month ago, Cowboy Draw™ celebrated its first million dollar jackpot, and now, Wyoming’s own game tips its 10-gallon hat to the game’s sixth jackpot winner. A lucky WyoLotto™ player purchased the winning ticket in Sheridan and will be riding off into the sunset with over a half-million dollars in winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased on October 15, 2015 at Maverik located at 1242 East Bundage Lane in Sheridan, and totaled $518,592. The last Cowboy Draw jackpot winner was announced on September 14, 2015, and the winning amount totaled a record-shattering $1,000,022.
The winning numbers for Thursday’s drawing were 3, 7, 16, 20, and 33.
Tickets for the Cowboy Draw game are sold only in Wyoming, giving WyoLotto players higher chances of winning prizes. Since the game’s launch on March 15, six lucky players have hit the jackpot and more than 500 players have won $1,000 each. Total winnings for just the Cowboy Draw game have reached $5,135,753.
Cowboy Draw is a draw game similar to Powerball® and Mega Millions®. Players choose two sets of five numbers ranging from 1 to 45. A player who correctly matches all five numbers is the jackpot winner. Players who correctly match four, three, and two numbers also win cash prizes of $1,000, $20, and $5, respectively. Each $5 ticket provides two chances to win. The weekly drawings for Cowboy Draw will be held every Monday and Thursday at 2 p.m. MDT. The jackpot starts at $250,000 and keeps growing until someone wins.
With the addition of Cowboy Draw, WyoLotto players have more chances to win a jackpot. The Mega Millions jackpot is now at an estimated $84 million, Powerball is now at an estimated $80 million, and Cowboy Draw is now at an estimated $250,000. So far, 702,529 WyoLotto players have won a total of $7,603,543 since the launch of the lottery in August 2014.
