Casper electrician won third Cowboy Draw jackpot

Bill, a Casper electrician who has chosen not to release his full name, felt lucky when he bought his ticket, expecting to win $15 or $20. However, he never thought he would win a $277,988 jackpot.

Well, that luck changed when Bill hit the Cowboy Draw jackpot in the April 27 drawing. He bought his ticket at the Loaf ‘N Jug, located at 285 Honeysuckle in Casper, on April 22.

While claiming his prize at the Wyoming Lottery HQ in Cheyenne on Thursday afternoon, Bill said, “My wife already has a car picked out and the rest will go into savings.”

Prior to the jackpot, Bill generally played a quick pick, which is how he won the jackpot. When asked if he has any special numbers he plays, Bill said, “I like these numbers. I think I will play these.”

With the addition of Cowboy Draw, WyoLotto players have more chances to win a jackpot and are winning! Just last week, a Cowboy Draw winner from Casper, Wyo. claimed a $285,226 jackpot and the week before that a Douglas, Wyo. resident won a $628,630 jackpot, making WyoLotto history with the largest jackpot won so far. Since the launch of the Wyoming Lottery in August of last year, 367,140 WyoLotto players have won a total of $3,356,413.

Cowboy Draw, which launched on March 15, is a draw game similar to Powerball® and MegaMillions®. Players choose five numbers ranging from 1 to 45. A player who correctly matches all five numbers is the jackpot winner. Players who correctly match four, three and two numbers also win cash prizes of $1,000, $20 and $5, respectively. Each $5 ticket provides two chances to win. The weekly drawings for Cowboy Draw will be held every Monday andThursday at 2:00 p.m. MST.
